The digital wave of the world has brought the needs of huge data process, so does the enterprise. Data played an important role in the enterprise. While at the same time , data in the enterprise are increasing rapidly. Due to the widely adoption of traditional storage technology DAS, the data has been scattered into different server which runs different operating system. That is the so-called"Isolated Information Island". As a result, storage virtualization has been on the central importance. Through the storage virtualization system, all storage resources will be mapped into a unified virtual storage space; Through the API, command line, GUI and the Web interface, the user can access and manage these data easily. The digital organism system, which was designed by 8010 Lab, is a virtual storage system. Through forming a unified virtual storage space of distributed resources on the network, it provides a virtual unique image space and meets the needs of large-scale network applications. However, the system which is been using is facing those following problems:First of all, each user has a quota, so when users use shared storage resources to meet their quotas by the largest, it is necessary to delete their own resources in order to reserved room for new resources. However, the main problem is the system does not provide users with a very good way of resources remove. Second, when logging off users'accounts, system administrators only logs off users' user information, but don't remove users'resources, which cause user storage sharing space be wasted. Finally the system could not provide to the system administrator a method to track those resources. In order to solve the problem above, this thesis delve into digital organism system Recovery module, as well as quota mechanism. Based on digital organism system a mechanism for the distributed database Spaces Recycling Mechanism was proposed. The mechanism is mainly divided into two parts: one is to study how to collect user resources; the other part is to examine how to collect system resources. Test showed that the mechanism could solve the problems above within high efficiency.
