Chinese local city TV stations have arisen under the situation of reforming and opening, and been developed more vigorously since 1990s. As entering this century, they are facing more and more opening environment of mass media. Consequently, the ecosystem of these local TV stations is experiencing the changes which never occurred before, because of the challenge of overseas medium, the competition with domestic tradition medium, artificial satellite television, the Internet, cell-phone television, IPTV and etc., and still, those internal reforming measures for grouping and industrializing. Since the ecological environment is the foundation for existing, those problems such as protecting and controlling the ecosystem of local TV stations, exploiting and utilizing the resources, would all affect the development of China's TV industry directly or indirectly. Meanwhile, it is both important and emergency to correctly consider the ecosystem of local TV stations and actively take proper tactics in this era with more and more crucial competitions among mass media. This thesis makes the study on ecosystem of local TV stations and takes Zhengzhou TV Station as the example. The clearer acknowledgement is obtained from the analysis of four aspects: social cultural environment, policy and systematic environment, medium competing environment and advertising resource environment. At the same time, Zhengzhou TV Station to all the Chinese local TV stations is as one point to a whole shade. So it is easy to understand the ecosystem of all the Chinese local TV stations. And some suggestions are also proposed from the angle of ecosystem on promoting those local TV stations to lay a solid foundation in the crucial competition of future.
