Middle School English Culture Teaching Platform Based On The Vrml And Applied Research

The national English cause standard says that we should improve the students' ability of thinking and expressing in English.It requests the students to form the sense of communication between different cultures,improve the ability of communication over different cultures.But,one of the great difficulties of the learners in non-English speaking countries is lacking of English speaking environment.We use VRML technology to build a virtual reality space about Christmas culture in USA.By using VRML technology,we have achieved the expected purpose.(1) Amalgamating VRML with other related technologies.In this research,we have studied the way of combining VRML,VBScript,Html,Spreadsheet and TTS.It is a good technical sustain for building the virtual reality education space.(2) Exploring an approach of building a culture education platform with VRML,and giving the source code.On the platform,we can realize the altemation between the user and the virtual people.It can record the data and read English well.(3) Putting forward a method of creating VR secene.We build the secene by using CAXA first,then we optimize it in Parallel Graphics VrmlPad v2.1,add TouchSensor.We have built virtual New York night piece and virtual America family.(4) Organizing a contrast teaching examination.It shows that the VR scene is helpful in learning English culture knowledge.Through testing,compared with the traditional class teaching,the students feel that they are the members of the events when they learn English culture knowledge by using the virtual reality space.In this way,the students' interest has been improved,the result of learning is better.I think that the virtual reality technologies are useful and impossible in learning English culture.
