Pedestal structural design is a radar engineering important topic, this paper unifies some radar development project of The 14th research institute of China Electronic Technology Group Corporation, The research to the radar pedestal form and the design request is carried on. According to the radar main tactical technical characteristics request, the radar pedestal basic structure form is determined, 200 ton Heavy-caliber antenna azimuth rotational motion movement is realized, and the research to the radar antenna array maintenance equipment is carried on. the primary part of the pedestal is detailedly design, the main parameter is detailedly calculated, the security of the person and equipment is fully considered in the process of the radar design, , the equipment and person are guaranteed will not to be damage and injury under the worst condition.The wheel-rail contacts is the important constituent of a wheel-rail type pedestal, it not only is the support system of a pedestal, also is the part of the transmission chain, in the paper, Contact stress on the wheel-rail contacts is detailedly analyzed by the traditional hertz formula and the finite element analysis software separately , In the finite element analysis computation, stress distribution of the wheel-rail contacts is fully studied under the elastic deformation, the elasto-plastic deformation and in the presence of friction condition in above two kind of situation, It has certain guidance and reference value to the design of wheel- rail type pedestal in the future.
