Recently, with the growth of internet and broadband applications, optical transmission is getting more popurlar in access network. Among kinds of optical access network techniques, GPON, support high-speed, full-service QoS, high efficiency of packaging and other advantanges, obtaining the favor of SPs (service providers).GPON is regarded as one of the best choices for broadband access network in the future. So it's very important to research GPON's key technologies, this paper is a researching of our study on some key technologies in GPON TC framing sub-layer. The content of this paper is as fellows:Firstly, made a summary of the actuality of GPON, presented an analysis of standard, and suggested the GEM encapsulation should be adopted.Secondly, analyzed the transmission convergence layer of ONT particularly, protocol stack of GPON system is brought forword and the main function of GTC is introduced. Besides studying up on the structure of the upstream and downstream frame, the meaning and founction of various fields contained in frame is discussed.Thirdly, analyzed the stratifid protocols of ONT to accomplish the structure design for ONT, and set forth the modular implementation of GPON TC framing sub-layer, implement some key functions of GPON TC framing sub-layer by FPGA techniques, these functions including: frame synchoronization module, CRC module, scrambling/descrambling module, BIP module and FEC module. Each module and the corresponding method of designing implementation are described in details; validate the correctness of design according to the simulation charts.Finally, the further work need to carry out in the next step is pointed out.
