The development of Information Teclmology(IT) brings hopes to the traditional education in the world wide.But in our country the integrating of IT and teaching is just underway.So the author choses the intelligent tutoring system as the object to study.Cognitive Tutor AlgebraⅠis a successful intelligent tutoring system in America,and in this paper the author introduces the development and actuality of Cognitive Tutor AlgebraⅠincluding its theory and developing manner.With this understanding comparing Cognitive Tutor AlgebraⅠto Z+Z and finding the difference between them.In the last part of this paper some suggestions to consummate the research work will be put forward.In this paper,the first chapter introduces the "cognitive-guided algebraⅠ" with the context of the development of a whole.The quality of basic education has triggered concerns from all walks of life in American society,in which mathematics is a focal concern point.In order to improve the quality of teaching,scholars got together to seek educational innovations,including using the information technology to improve the quality of education.At the same time,the development of information teclmology,artificial intelligence and learning of science has laid a theoretical foundation for the research of intelligent tutoring systems.ChapterⅡintroduces the structure and function of "Z+Z" and analyses its characteristics.Then the author introduces themes and curriculum components of Cognitive Tutor AlgebraⅠcurricular.Learning in Cognitive Tutor AlgebraⅠincludes three parts:table of contents,lesson and problem.On this basis,the anthor compares "Z+Z" to Cognitive Tutor AlgebraⅠ.In the third chapter the author analyzes the evaluation report of using the Cognitive Tutor AlgebraⅠto confirm the effect of it,and makes a discussion of the true effect and problems existing in the software.In the fourth chapter the author describes the psychological theory of Cognitive Tutor AlgebraⅠ:ACT-R theory and the research methods.The theory is important in the process of designing the program.And the design based research is meaningful to the success of the program.At last based on the analysis of the Cognitive Tutor AlgebraⅠ,the author makes a conclusion and gives some advice to design an effective intelligent teaching system.
