With the application and development of WWW technology and information technology, they provide strong sustainments for distant education. Therefore, it is becoming a hot field of research and development. Distant education has many advantages, for example opening, sharing, interactive, various and abundant learning resources, convenient resource index and multiform teaching mode, etc.. But there are some different degree problems in the existing e-learning systems. For example simple course list, hybrid resource, insensitive response and feedback, lacking tutoring mechanism and intelligence, etc.. In order to settle above problems, this paper research and design a self-regulated learning system based on intelligent tutoring mechanism. It provides teachers and learners effective and individual teaching-and-learning environment. Firstly, on the base of analyzing the existing e-learning systems and domestic and overseas researches about intelligent tutoring system, and integrating with modern distant education technology standard, the main object models, architecture, running-mechanism and function of this system are analyzed and designed. Secondly, fuzzy matching and fuzzy reasoning are adopted in this system in order to acquire and match each learner's learning model as well as the various pedagogical decisions. An example is given in this paper. Lastly, this paper briefly introduces the realization of the self-regulated learning system based on intelligent tutoring mechanism and discusses our future work to enhance the capability of this system. There are many advantages in this system, for example friendly and individual interface, simple operation and universal use, etc.. This system may meet teachers and learners individual teaching-and-learning needs of on the Internet. It has very useful and popularized value.
