Computer Network connects different computers from distributed area via cables. Sharing resources is the core idea.And with the wide-use of wide-band,more and more intelligent home device can connect to the Internet,and communicate with each other in order to share data or for other applications.Moreover,home users hope to efficiently and safely visit home device while outside.This is an emergent need,and it describes the future home network orientation,those are entertainment,safe guard, and information share.The IPv4 protocol is design with 32-bit long.When used in home network,it needs home users to configure the DHCP server,so as to support multi hosts surfing the web.And even more,it is deficient in address allocation and routing,IPv4 no longer meets the home-network development.And the outside visit need is out of the question with the IPv4 protocol.So,in this paper,we proposed a system,named HIDI(Home network Intelligent Domain name system based on IPv6).Based on IPv6,combining the DHCPv6 and DNS server,HIDI accomplishes the host"Plug in and Play".This System is composed of 4 parts,host,CPE(Customer Premier Equipment),AN (Access Node) and Remote DNS & Radius Server.Between the CPE and AN,the DHCP process transmits the zone suffix option and normal DHCP data.The DNS agent module at AN communicates with the remote DNS server,updates the certified home-domain-name.And then,CPE automatically configure the DNS and DHCPv6 server,and waits for the host's connect.Once a home host connects to the CPE,the Server will allocate it an IPv6 address and domain name.To further consummate our HIDI,another module named Safe Access(SA) is designed.Only delegated CPE can obtain the IPv6 address from the AN,and home name registered in the Remote Radius Server.To demonstrate the applicability of our approach,we have implemented the HIDI, including the core modules RFC draft"Domain Suffix Option for DHCPv6",DNS Agent and"DHCPv6 Client FQDN Option",based on the open-source DHCPv6 and Bind 9.According to our experimental results,accessing host can be automatically allocated the IPv6 address and domain name by HIDI.This"Plug in and Play"system can be mostly convenient for the users to surf the web,share documents,monitor the home through network,and other many various web applications.
