With the development of science and technology and improvement of the living standards of the people, people's demand on amusement is increasing. As the loader of information, picture and video information bring us the most plentiful and actual feeling, so the research and application about video emerged without end, and the technique of encoding and transmission develop quickly. Recent years, people make a lots of great progresses on semiconductor engineering and embedded chip design, multi-core chip is one of them. As social development the demand of video application become more and more urgent. Take the advantage of embedded chip to integrate decode interrelated technique is the key to solve video application.So the video research of transmission, decoding and display which based on the embedded is urgent, and it is theoretical and practical.Through in-depth studying in embedded and video encoding and decoding technology, the design scheme of multimedia player system based on embedded uCLinux is put forward. In this system, hardware platform is based on ADSP BlackFin-561 dual core embedded processor, and software platform is on the basis of embedded uCLinux. The trend of multimedia player, the development of the embedded system and the embedded uCLinux, and the characteristic of the H.264,MEPG-4 are analyzed. The significance of Multimedia application in future communications is elaborated. The macro framework is parted into hardware and software which are designed in details. In hardware design, the ADSP Blackfin-561 dual core embedded processor by way of MPU, NOR FLASH,NAND FLASH and SDRAM by way of memory Unit, CS4334 by way of audio A/D transform module, AD7179 by way of video A/D transform module,ISP1760 by the way of the USB interface.During the PCB design process, we use high speed PCB design technique base upon reference the signal integrity theory. Base on the research of IBIS model, we use both circuit model and EDA tools to build a high speed signal board transmission model.We combine experience principle with simulation to design the PCB and analyze a series problem of signal integrity. We modify and adjust our PCB over and over again to control the signal integrity problem. Finally,we make the PCB successful.The software design included the building of cross-compile environment, the analyzing of Bootloader's startup process, the transplanting of Bootloader, the migrating of Linux kernel to ADSP BlackFin-561 and the designing of root file system based on the research of Linux root file system's. Design the driver for NAND FLASH and transplanting other driver for hardware.
