Ad Hoc network is a wireless communication with special structure. It is composed of a group of mobile, wireless nodes which cooperate with each other in multi-hop way to finish establishing communications, instead of depending on support of infrastructures such as base station. With the peculiarity of self-organizing,distributed structure and dynamic, Ad Hoc is becoming one important developing orientation for next generation of wireless networks. The thesis researched routing protocol of Ad Hoc networks, and discussed about the main technology of reducing expenses of routing. Based on it, a Low-Cost Routing Protocol (LCRP) for Ad Hoc networks was designed. Finally, it gave one process of engineering implementation, which was applied in special networks. The main topics of the thesis are as followings:1)The thesis does some researches about Ad Hoc networks and its routing protocol. Then several referenced routing protocols are introduced and technology methods of controlling routing expenses are analyzed. At last it makes a conclusion of the demands of LCRP for Ad Hoc networks founded on hand-held radio.2)Regarding to the LCRP for hand-held radio, analyzing how to reduce energy cast, wireless bandwidth and processor's resource on the protocol. The design demand, working flow, routing algorithm and data structures are described.3)The hardware circuit designing, software debugging and testing process of hand-held radio's base band are described in details. Firstly, circuit functional modules, schematic diagrams are presented, which is the platform of routing protocol. Then, the software function flow and so on are introduced. Finally, the debugging and testing for the system are proposed.4)Finally, it is the conclusion and outlook for the thesis.
