2D Bar Code were widely applied in society, with many advantages, such as large volumes of information, high reliable, security and confidentially, high error correction capability, low cost etc. these characteristics show that it will have a booming future.QR 2D Bar Code also called quick response matrix code, it can read QR sign quickly from any angle, and many different versions fulfill any information content. QR code work specialized in the Chinese characteristics which can be read as the structured char. So far the QR became earlier and more popular matrix 2D code.Because 2D Bar Code has relatively higher density information, the recognition technology of it is more complex than that of 1D code. There are no many deeper researches on the QR Code technology, so the research on the encoding and decoding, especially about the pretreatment, will be the priority research areas.This thesis mostly deals with there cognition and application of QR code, including research on encoding and decoding, barcode recognition and application. Also give some detail design and example. By the error correction principle of Reed-Solomon code, discussing the encoding and decoding algorithm of Reed-Solomon.The complexity of Decoding the QR picture are higher than the encoding it. Especially the pretreatment on the QR picture, there are many algorithm and methods of pretreatment were accumulated by the scholars form home and abroad. , In this thesis, compare and analyze each import step in the pretreatment process. Include gray process, wave filtering, linearization, framing, edge detection, whirling, etc. found the better method to do it. A quick location algorism were raised, it based on the picture structure of QR code. It has a ideal results though a lot of experiments.At last, realized the whole encoding and decoding system based on the QR technologies. Also designed two application system, one is about the communication fees'charge, the other is used for booking. Detailed process and modeling, can give basic theoretical direction and reference in the future.At the end of this thesis, the researches are summarized and the future work is presented.
