IP will be the core of the next generation network, which will carry voice, data and multimedia services unified. With the increased development of the IP-based business, new requirement is put forward operators'transport network. It is of great significance to ensure SP (Service Provider) to provide services meeting the requirements. And Service Level Agreement (SLA) is a formal negotiated agreement about the level of the service quality between a service provider and a customer, so SLA has great research value, and network monitoring is important part of SLA management.Software architecture, as a blueprint, clearly defines the logic components and organizes them by agreed interface and standard protocols to form a clear hierarchical skeleton. In the thesis, the software architecture of SLA-centric network monitoring system and related issues are researched deeply based on the project named"SLA-Centric Network Monitoring System". Five aspects are included as follows:(1) The software architecture is put forwards based on analysis of SLA-centric network monitoring system.(2) Certain software technologies are chosed as the base of implementing the software architecture by comparing the related technologies. And distributed objects technology and data distribution technology are researched as a emphasis. A plan for build the software architecture with CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) and DDS (Data Distribution Service) is proposed.(3) The software architecture design is refined with combination of the selected software technology. Meanwhile key modules are designed and implemented such as main control module, data distribution system, view layer-business logic layer integration framework and so on.(4) A systematic test is performed in the actual network environment through integrating the software architecture and related modules. And the validity is vertificated. (5) In order to enhance performance of the system, load balancing for servers is further researched in the thesis, and a load balancing mechanism based on improved genetic algorithm is presented. And the availability is proved by simulation.The software architecture has been tested in the network of University of Science and Technology China. And the validity is verified.
