With the development of computer application, software application has entered into many fields in our society. Therefore, improving the efficiency of developing software has become an important task for all programmers. Software reuse and development with components have become essential factors in software engineering. The middleware is justly designed to resolve such problems.CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture) is industry criterion, which had been brought up by Object Management Group in 1990. Its basic principle is that different software modules are compatible with each other by ORB soft-bus. So any application or software system which meet with the criterion, can be aggregated into CORE A system. As a new object-based distributed computing technology, CORBA supports a new way for building large complex distributed application. This dissertation mainly discussed the basic systematic framework, composing and services of CORBA and details the history of distributed computing. Finally the dissertation takes the "Management and Trade in e-commence" as the research object, discusses the system design, brings forth a distributed application system which is robust and flexible under the hybrid network environment. The dissertation includes the following chapters:Chapter 1 briefly introduces the research around the world of middleware, CORBA and OMG, explains the study signification.Chapter 2 reviews the evolution of distributed computing model, explains the importance and concept of middleware.Chapter 3 introduces the systematic framework, services and applications of CORBA, and brings forward the other two technologies which support distributed computing.Chapter 4 introduces the "Distributed Application System in Business" design, including system structure design, business object design, databasedesign, event service design and load balancing design. Chapter 5 demonstrates the software implement. Chapter 6 gives the conclusion. This project is supported by Nature Science Foundation of Hubei Province.
