With the development of the digital battlefield, the problem of protect transmitter from E-bomb draw many Nation's attention. Electromagnetic pulse(EMP) produced by nuclear or E-bomb explosion can reach the peak field strength of several ten kilovolts per meter within nanoseconds, the fields can propagate directly through building, or they can couple to exterior terminals(power lines, cables, antenna, slots, etc) and penetrate the facility. EMP fields always induce large current and voltage transients, which might cause damage or threaten to sensitive electronic appliances, it can result in irreversible damage to a wide range of electrical and electronic equipment.Shortwave communication equipments are the foundation of my country's informationization construction, and also are the objects which are attacked directly by Electromagnetic pulse weapons(EMPW). Shortwave communication ( 1.6MHz~30MHz) belong to medium and long distance communication, and is important communication of tactics. At present, the upset and damage effects to electron equipment by high power microwave weapons(HPMW) is becoming hot-point in research field. However, the experimentation research of my country in such domain is scant. research of protecting communication equipment against Electromagnetic pulse Weapon in our country is on underway state. This item belong to certain advanced research in the 11th five-year plan from the military, it greatly improves the ability of shortwave communication equipment against Electromagnetic pulse after dealing with it. Because of some business secrets, this paper illuminate only part of research on shortwave communication equipment.The research production of this thesis:1. The very important work of this paper is that it, the first time in our country , research Systematically the coupling effects of certain active service shortwave communication equipment which is exposed to narrow-band(L band) and ultra-wide band(UWB) Electromagnetic pulse environment, and fill up the blank of our county in such domain. Through these experiments, the reaction performance of real communication equipment to different Electromagnetic pulse is cognized, this set a firm ground for protecting itself against electromagnetic weapon.2. This paper research the protection technology of the radio box in theory and design technology of protection module, and acquire good effect in experiment,this protection module play a important role in weakening strong energy from antenna.3. This paper investigate the destroy mechanism of shortwave communication equipment to EMP after analyzing the reaction performance, and improves the ability of shortwave communication equipment against Electromagnetic pulse after dealing with it, and analyze and summarize the basic rule of electromagnetism coupling and effects when electron systems are exposed to EMP environment, and put forward advises in reason about protection against EMPW.This paper provides important foundation in experiment and basis in theory for the design of communication equipment prototype which protect itself against EMPW.
