The application of computer science in remote control field begun since DOS age, but because of the absence of internet, and the requirement in market was not that rigorous, the technique of remote control was not as attractive as it is today. Thanks to the fast growth of internet and the demand on technical management and supports, nowadays the technique of remote control captures more and more attention.Due to the characters of embedded system and the rise of Internet, the combination of embedded technologies and remote controlling applications is inevitable trend. Based on the researches on current popular remote controlling and measurement systems, this dissertation designs a typical system with CAN (Control Area Networks) bus involved. This system is based on popular 32-bit embedded CPU and real-time OS, It has the ability to process real-time data and transport data to remote controlling center. The design and partly implementation of this system verifies the feasibility of combination of embedded technologies and field bus.The main content of the first chapter is to introduce this dissertation's work and purpose.In the second chapter the current main technologies and trends involved in embedded remote controling and measurement systems are introduced, they are the Internet accessing methods, collecting and processing methods of data in high-speed system, and the mechanisms in data security solutions.In the third chapter this thesis introduces the detailed design of a remote measurement and supervising system based on CAN field bus technology, which includes general system design, hardware design, real-time processing design, CAN bus communication, network communication and remote maintenance design.The forth chapter introduces the developing process of CAN field bus driver which includes general design and software implementation process.The implementation is realized and verified on PowerPC developing board, and the main achievement is the communication module for CAN controller PHILIPS SJA1000. The implementation of communication module for CAN controller verified the feasibility of system. The introduction of CAN field bus demonstrates the possibility of simplifying the connection between detectors and local devices. What is more, the CAN field bus could be adopted to form distributed system whose function is to transport real-time data. This kind of systems could connect industrial devices with high-level managing and controlling networks, the sharing information make it easy and effective to supervise and control local devices via remote application.The last chapter summarizes the purpose of this dissertation and gives the expectations on how to improve system inspects of system reliability and data security...
