Mode Conversion Between The Dbms Technology Applied Research

With the rapid development of computer technology, database technology has matured, database management system and operating system are constantly being improved or upgraded, application softwares which are seted up in the database and operating system are also continually being upgraded or updated. Therefore, the conversion problem between heterogeneous databases is particularly prominent when the software are further developed or the system is conversed. This heterogeneity is reflected not only in the heterogeneous computer architecture, but also on the basis of heterogeneous operating systems, also reflected in their heterogeneous DBMS. In this complex environment, how to achieve the conversion between the DBMS and ensure the integrity of the definition of data structures and data integrity is the key to the heterogeneous database conversion.With the constant popularity of Internet applications, it is inevitable demand for providing an independent platform to achieve heterogeneous database conversion in the Internet environment. Through learning and research the basic theory of relational databases and middleware technology to the databases connection and XML technology to data conversion, the paper putted forward a design scheme of schema conversion between the DBMS and achieved two heterogeneous databases conversion between Oracle and SQL Server.The paper mainly discusses the research and implementation for the schema conversion technology between the DBMS. First of all, it focuses on the schema structure based on the basic theory of database, and analyses the differences for the schema structure of Oracle and SQL Server database, and form the different files. Comparing the schema definition of the source database with the different files, it ultimately gets the schema definition of the target database. Secondly, it focuses on the XML data conversion technology, the application of XML technology achieve data conversion of general data types of heterogeneous database and eliminate the heterogeneity of data schema of heterogeneous database. It achieves data conversion of the large object data types through the intermediate table. In the conversion process, it ensures the entity integrity of the data, domain integrity and referential integrity.
