Web Information Retrieval Based On Ontology

Web offers an abundant and valuable information repository. A lot of company and institution publish their information on the official website. Such as the dominating financial institution and port website publish some related information on their website. It became important how to visit all information that the users is interested in by a single entrance instead of visiting a lots of domain websites. But, the data on Web has characteristics such as semi-structured, heterogeneous, distributed etc, the traditional web search engines can't do it better for this. Ontology is an explicit specification of a conceptualization. Using ontology to descript resource can greatly resolve the above issue.The thesis tried to design financial domain web retrieval information based on the ontology information retrieval model. Users can customize the website that they like in this web retrieval information system. In the system the financial ontology was constructed in company level, then a lot of auto agent was developed to collected information from the interested website. All those information was stored in local and was built into ontology repository. The last step is provide a interface to the end-user to retrieve the information.
