From portable electronic products to large panel display, panel display is wildly used in nowadays. In the recent years, the panel display market is developing rapidly with great prospect. Among all of the panel display techniques, the TFT-LCD (Thin-Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) technique is most popular, and gains the largest market share. Modern electronic products need more and more devices be integrated into a single chip, and the method of designing different function modules, which are implemented in different chips, into only one chip makes it much more important and complex to design the power management unit, especially the power management circuits in TFT-LCD driver IC which should provide many kinds of power supply for IC working voltage and drive voltage. Under the background of TFT-LCD driver IC design, a simple scheme of power management is proposed in this paper after studying the TFT-LCD driving principles. In addition, the circuits in the power management are carefully studied and designed according to the scheme. The research work of this dissertation mainly includes:First, the scheme of power management is proposed, and the modules are well defined.Secondly, the LDO linear regulation module is analyzed and designed, including bandgap reference design with high PSR and a new structure LDO linear regulator design.Thirdly, the charge pump module is analyzed and designed, including the design and optimization of charge pump circuits, presenting the feedback structure for stability of charge pump and proposing a new oscillator with good frequency stability. Finally, a two-stage operational amplifier with rail-to-rail input and output ranges is proposed which has a simple structure, good performance with low power. The thesis is a production of circuit principles and simulation practice. All the circuits are designed and simulated in GSMC 0.18μs HV (High Voltage) CMOS technology. The simulation results prove the circuits function correctly and the theory analysis of the circuits has been verified.
