The coming of Software Defined Radio is a great improvement in the field of modern electronic. The main idea of Software Defined Radio is using a standard and modular hardware platform to implement various functions (such as operation frequency, modulation and demodulation format, data format, etc.). It emphasizes on programmable and opening architecture. Accordingly, Digital-Down Convert, one of the core technologies used by SDR receivers, is also getting more and more widely used. The study on the theoretical knowledge of software radio and digital signal processing has been finished. The emphasis is to analysis the measure of using FPGA to implement DDC, parting modules. The algorithms which are applied in the design are compared with each others to ascertain the efficient methods. Using MATLAB and FPGA, the main critical modules including NCO, CIC Filter, HB Filter and FIR Filter have been implemented, synthesized and simulated. The main content is such aspect:(1) Detailed exposition the basic theory of Software Defined Radio, including the Sampling Theory, Multi-rate data signal processing Theory and Digital filter theory.(2) Detailed description of sub-modules of the Digital-Down Convert, including NCO, CIC Filter, HB Filter and FIR Filter modules.(3) Depth study of the main algorithms, including LUT, CORDIC algorithm and DA algorithm.(4) Simulation Analysis and Design on the sub-modules of the Digital-Down Convert using MATLAB and FPGA.According to the results of software simulation, it is to accomplish the requirements of the initial design.
