With wide applications of computer technology in the financial sectors, the computer becomes into an essential part to support the baking business. Besides the required core banking system with perfect functions, it is very necessary to establish a special and comprehensive finance service platform. The system shall meet the functional requirement of current bank products as well as have very strong flexibility and expandability to fulfill the demand of various expanding business; furthermore, it shall be a reliable system with large throughput and perfect transaction processing mechanism. On the basis of sufficient investigation and research, the author puts forward the design idea and design philosophy of a comprehensive financial service platform, as well as the basic functions need to be accomplished; he also takes part in the development of this topic with the research team.The comprehensive financial service platform is a generic term of all the bank trading channels and the access & handling platforms that govern these channels, which is directly confronted with operators and clients. As intermediate layer of the trading channel and core application system, the comprehensive financial service platform offers a group of standard interfaces to separate the realization of trading channels and that of core application system. The platform developed by us is a system frame based on the Client/Serve. Relying on the IBM CISC basic platform, this platform governs all the trading channels of banks and implements the tasks of transaction routing, format conversion, legal check and consistency assurance, to provide the system based on one or more mechanism(s) with completed relay services. As the core of exchange, the platform integrated the subsystems of all the banks concerned, to accomplish the functions of communications management, device management, tasks management, format conversion of messages, transaction route selections, reverse operation of affairs and the consumer terminal service, etc..
