Service Oriented Architecture(SOA) is a computer systems architectural style which defines and provisions the IT infrastructure to allow different applications distributed over a network to exchange data and participate in business processes.These functions are loosely coupled with the operating systems and programming languages underlying the applications.SOA can help businesses respond more quickly and cost-effectively to changing market conditions.On the other hand,A workflow is a reliably repeatable pattern of activity enabled by a systematic organization of resources,defined roles and mass, energy and information flows,into a work process that can be documented and learned.Face to the competition,the enterprises hope to shorten the runtime of processes to get the fast reactions to the market and customer's need.Therefore,it makes the SOA to be one of the best solutions of refine the workflow by the requirements of enterprises and the advancements of the SOA. And mainly works and contributions of this paper can be summarized as follows:(1)We study the concepts and methods of both SOA and workflow and illustrated the application areas and andvancements of both of them.(2)We propse a SOA solution to support the workflow management system. And by introducting its technical methods and development process etc,it can be proved that the solution can improve the workflow techinique.(3)Compared by the development method of traditional workflows,the SOA workflow solution is more advanced.We illustrate the two of the phases of SOA lifecycle in detail.(4)By studying on a case of Banks' Business Loan Support System for minor enterprise,described how the realistic example of the process is expressed by SOA.This system includes many steps of examination of the business loan, branchs,merges and operates of people task etc.which have an obvious representative to the analysis of the business process.The purpose of this paper is to bring the conceptual architecture:SOA to the implementation of the SOA application in workflows systems.
