With development of the multimedia technology, large tiled display wall system has abroad applied to government, army and other enterprise. But, it is difficult to extend the application because the price of the high-performance display wall is too expensive. However, with quickly development of the graphics media processors, the large tiled display wall system based on cluster is so powerful that it can meet the requirements of high-resolution display, with high performance and low price.With the coming high-speed Network environment, we can use the cluster as our structure. In this structure, synchronization control of data transmission and mosaic will be achieved by the software of display wall system. Supported by cluster environment, the structure of the hardware will have a great scalability and agility.The paper mainly researched the architecture of our large tiled display wall based on high-speed-internet and the key technologies in our system. For the technology of parallel rendering, most organization of the display wall research used the retained-mode. Under the retained-mode, the multi-media data were stored at the rendering nodes to reduce the network payload. Before displaying on the screen, however the large tiled display wall in this mode should transfer all of the data to nodes. So we can't Real-time display the media in this system. Our system used the immediate-mode parallel rendering technology. By using OpenGL Shading Language, our system can take use of the computing power of the Graphics Processing Unit to alleviate the load on CPU to accelerate the parallel rendering efficiency. So we can real-time and effective display on the large tiled screen.The large tiled display system use LCD TV as our screen. Contrast with project display unit, our system needn't large compute in geometric registration. This will reduce the computed time of the display node, and improve the efficiency of display. LCD has low price and high-resolution. Using LCD as our display units have low cost, conveniently to install and easily to extend.
