Nowadays there are many kinds of wireless communication systems.But because of the different frequency band,modulation and communication protocol in the diffrrent systerms,it is difficult to communicate between these different systerms.The traditional radio design depends on hardware.And the fuction of traditional radio receiver is limited.But the Software Defined Radio(SDR) technology based on the standardized and modular hardware,using digital signal processing technology.The fuction of wireless communications realized by using upgrated and reconfigured software.The interoperability and compatibility of different communication will be greatly enhanced.Receiver is the main component of the radio communication system.Ideal software radio receiver adopting directly sampling of the radio frequency signals,load different software on the high-speed DSP platforms to achieve the different wave demodulator.Given the restrictions of the current device level,today direct sampling of RF signals is difficult,so the receiver can only use the broadband IF software radio structure to design.This paper study design of the IF module of the SDR.First of all,expounded the basic concept of software radio and related principles,then brings forward an design proposal of IF modules.Selected high speed ADC and designed peripheral circuit, then designed the sub-modules of the digital downconverter systerm.Finally,the simulation model of the digital downconverter systerm was built by Simulink.And the result of simulation indicates that the design is correct.
