With the rapid development of computer technology, signal processing-based acoustic target location technology was much concerned. Using the noise of the campaign objectives, thereby identifying the target location information technology is the key to passive acoustic location,which is widely used in military.In this paper, based on the current Research Status at home and abroad, the choice of target noise signal to achieve the goal of location, and analysis of the ground typical target– the noise characteristics of the vehicle. In the thesis time-delay estimation of the passive acoustic location and location algorithm is a more in-depth study,and the paper also analyse the causes of the location error, location error in the formula, as well as the impact of a wind orientation were affected, all of them are useful for the acoustic detection system for the design of a theoretical foundation, and based on this, the paper simulate the acoustic locatin system , which has laid a solid foundation and theoretical research for the realization of the hardware.Time-delay estimation is the key to the passive acoustic location. In this paper,comparing with multiple delay , finally the cross-correlation algorithm is estimated for the the time delay of the acoustic sensor signal, and the simulation algorithm is applied to the actual location, thus study the passive location technology.
