Since passive location is one of the key tasks in modern electronic reconnaissance, this thesis concentrates on the issues concerning time-delay estimation in passive TDOA location technology. Passive TDOA location, an important passive location method, is also universally acknowledged as hyperbola location. As a key point in passive TDOA location, time-delay estimation plays an indispensable role. Thus, it is significant both theoretically and practically to research on time-delay estimation method of high speed and accuracy. At present, plenty of time-delay estimation algorithms available has put forward based on the similarity of signals. In these algorithms, signal processing model is modeled as a stationary random process, but radar signals intercepted in reality are non-stationary ones with cyclostationarity, which are more suitable for modeling for cyclostationary random process, using the cyclostationary theory for processing. The thesis commences with a deep research on second-correlation time-delay estimation, and then presents a new algorithm based on second-correlation time-delay estimation, which has improved precision of time-delay estimation by sharpening the second-correlation peak. Moreover, it has been systematically researched that time-delay estimation algorithms based on cyclostationary theories available, of which theoretical analysis is implemented before part of them are improved. Simulation results have verified the validity of algorithms above. The thesis concludes with a summary of the overall research and a prospect for the following research.
