Enterprise Storage Area Network (san), Program Analysis And Research

In today's computing environment, the efficient storage and management of massively growing data has become a major challenge. To solve this problem, Storage Area Network (SAN) is appeared.The theory of storage area network is new but has been widely known in the storage and network industry. It can provide abundant and fast data resources for application systems in the network; on the other hand, it can manage all storage resources in the network at the central place. So, it is tunred out be a perfect mode of storage management and application. The purpose of the thesis is to build a bridge between the theory of storage area network and its applications. Moreover, the thesis will make some research about how to develop application systems based on storage area network technology.In view of the requirements on SAN, we set up a research group in which I am the project manager. We have investigated the SAN technologies that fit for the implementation and application in our company. A scheme of SAN for our company is proposed, analyzed and implemented. Hugh quantity of data are thus safely stored, high efficiently managed, and fully ultilized.In this paper, we state the importance of SAN technologies in the application of company networks and business operation. Typical schemes of SAN are compared and analyzed, such as the FC-based SAN and IP-based SAN. A reasonable scheme of SAN is proposed and the performance of SAN is studied through network simulations. The results show that our scheme is efficient and effective.
