Air surveillance signal scout is a newly developing research topic. Discover air surveillance signal rapidly and recognize it and decode it correctly can obtain the target state, attribute, task and other military intelligence in the target area. Air surveillance signal scout has become the important method in the modern electron scout field.The air surveillance signal includes interrogating signal and the transponder signal. In common use the mode of the air surveillance signal include Mark X (mode1, 2, 3/A, B, C and D), Mark XII and mode S. Since the air surveillance signal is the burst pulse coding signal, we have to capture all the signal pulses, measure the pulses' parameter, classify and recognize these pulses, and decode useful information from the pulses.The air surveillance video signal process unit is composed of hardware and software. The hardware includes the data sample, the pulse measure, the data buffer, the DSP process, the communication interface and the PCI interface circuit. The hardware performs the pulses' parameter measurement. The software is the core of the signal process unit and performs the pulses'classification, pattern recognition and decoding. The signal process unit is characterized by sharp, smart processing.As a part of the air surveillance signal scout system, the unit has been tested strictly and applied in engineering. The result demonstrates that the unit can work robustly in real-time and achieve the main targets of the system..
