A management information system is required to meet the high demands in student enrollment management, involving adaptation to different recruitment patterns, massive data processing, web information publication, instant statistics, and planning for next year. The system is mainly focused on information processing and forecasting based on historical data to reduce the labor intensity of staff and help with deployment and decision making.In development traditional process,"first develop and then integrate"mode is usually used and results in complicated development and high cost. On the contrary, under a service-oriented architecture (or SOA), business logic created in the form of service or component can be shared, reused and configured. In the course of informatization construction of colleges and universities, a lot of management systems were developed to meet educational demands. However, lack of communications between them led to"Information Isolated Islands".Thus, an enrollment management auxiliary system based on SOA has been designed in this paper, with advantages as follows:1. The system adopts the architecture of"SOA based smart client"&"B/S mode information publication and browsing platform", so it can work properly in both connected and disconnected state.2. The system completes data acquisition, management and utilization internally. Offline data and online data can be interfaced seamlessly.3. Components are relatively functional independent, and can be downloaded from the remote server and installed to local according to the work demand, simplifying the software installation process, and realizing the loose coupling of the system.4. The system adopts Data Mining Association Rules technology, and applies Apriori algorithm to seek frequent item sets, confidence and association rules according to its support degree. Apriori helps to complete the analysis of source condition of students.This paper discusses the designing and realizing process of the system, and makes an in-depth study on data mining technology and the Smart Client offline application technology.
