Both teletext and EPG are visual function of DTV, expecially for Eropean market. OSD teletext is one even necessary feature for those set-top-box saled in Europe. And EPG is one obvious feature differiate from analog TV, which is also necessary feature for all type Set-Top-Box.Based on LSI 9700 STB solution, this dissertation studies theories related to DTV, including DVB teletext, expecially on OSD teletext application, Solutions for those requirements are also supplied in this dissertation.Electronic Program Guide (EPG) is the second part of this dissertation, which including three modules: PSI and SI table parsing; design the local EPG database; based on LSI9700 graphical function, design EPG GUI interface.The main contents are as follows:1. Discussions of the key techniques of DTV such as the system structure are included.Analysis of the system software architecture of LSI 9700 STB are also included in this dissertation.2. DVB teletext mechanism is studied. And the dissertation also discussed the development status of DVB teletext.3. LSI 9700 graphic engine and DVB teletext standards are studied in this dissertation.OSD Teletext management and display software module based on LSI9700 driver level is supplied, and it is used in LSI 9700 STB solution; Sync mechanism between OSD teletext and video is studied and one resolution based on LSI9700 is also supplied;4. Discussions of the SDRAM timing control issue, one timing investigation toolis designed and ready for STB mass production.5. Designed and realized the EPG.: getting the EPG information by pasing PSI and SI table; one local database design for EPG data management; and EPG's GUI design as well as Chinese font library and multi-language.
