Acoustic Logging is a technology that can measure the transmission characteristic of P wave, S wave and the stoneley wave in the well hole and obtain the corresponding velocity and attenuation in order to estimate the properties of the lithology, interspace degree and the stratum infiltrate degree around the well hole. Due to the extreme environment and intricate geologic condition going with oil reconnoitering, in order to guarantee the logging equipments working with high reliability, high stability, high quality and efficiency as well as to simplify the development,manufacture and maintenance of the equipments, it is necessary to establish a consummately functional system specific on equipment testing and inspection.A downhole testing system specific for acoustic well logging equipment is designed in this paper. This system contains these primary function modules: sonic devices simulation module, acoustic transducer testing module and downhole circuit testing module for acoustic well logging equipment. Detailed description to the sonic devices simulation module and the EDIB bus testing module is given in the paper.Sonic devices simulation module can simulate transmit and receiving detectors of the acoustic well logging equipment, and it is used to provide signal source and testing source for acoustic well logging downhole circuit in order to validate the signal collecting arithmetic in the collecting board, test the performance of the transmitters and regulate the control parameter of the analog channel board.The downhole circuit testing module simulates EDIB transmission mechanism and it is connected to the PC via USB port. Using this module, the PC can communicate with the downhole equipment without the interface bus. The downhole circuit testing module is designed following the protocol of EDIB. Transferring the acoustic data and the command between the downhole circuit and the PC through Mode 2, Mode 5 and Mode 7, it can control the status of the equipment and accomplish the control and test of all the collecting and testing procedure.
