As the essential equipment in the Front End of the Digital Television System, the TS Multiplexer packs several transport streams (TS) which is measured up by the Mpeg-2 to one transport stream by certain rules. Then the one transport stream can be transmitted in a analog channel.Besides,the specification for Chinese service information and DVB-SI prescribe the transport streams transmitted in the digital television system to take the Electronic Program Guide(EPG) information.So, we design and achieve a kind of integrated project of remote supervision/control and inserting the EPG information for the NIOSII TS Multiplexer,perfect its functions.This project integrates the function of multiplexer control and the function of inserting the EPG information together,let us use one computer to control several multiplexers.And the advantages of this project are high integration,low cost,and more practicability.Introduce the principle of the TS Multiplexer based on the embedded soft core-NIOSII. All of our design are based on it .There are several contributions in this design:(1) Transplant the embedded real-time operating system UC/OS-II to the TS Multiplexer.Then design a testing program, validate the OS can work well.(2) Based on the Mpeg-2 and DVB-SI standards, we construct the frames for the PSI/SI tables,which contain the EPG information.Then write this tables to the RAM in the Cyclone series Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA) by the language C.(3) Then design and achieve a kind of integrated project of remote supervision/control and inserting the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) information for the TS Multiplexer based on the embedded Real-time system UC/OS-II and network control chip LAN91C111. Compare this new project with the others using in the TS Multiplexers, our project put these two functions together, also can control several TS Multiplexers from one computer.(4) Accomplish the remote supervision/control software by VC++ 6.0.Then explain the pricinple of the software and show the flow of the program, mostly the communication module of this software.(5) Design a plan which put four TS into the multiplexer to test the whole system with the TS Multiplexer,ASI board,and the TS analyse software-TSexpert .There are four TS streams input to the multiplexer in our plan.The result show that the project is feasible,and the parameters of this system are accord to the anticipation.
