CAN Bus is known as one of the most famous field bus because its excellent characteristics, high reliability and special design.In industrial academy, the experiment instruments are confronted with disusing currently. The contents of experiment teaching must be updated quickly. So it is very significant to research CAN-bus based experiment instruments.Research and development of a CAN-bus based data acquisition and display systerm of a diseal engine is discussed in detail in the paper. Firstly, it was introduced about CAN technique specification. Sometypes chips information using in single-chipmicrocomputer, such as P87C591 are explained. After that, the structural model of CAN data acquisition and display systrm of a diseal engine was set up. The overall project, software and hardware design were analyzed in detail. And then, the circuit diagram, software flowchart, and part of program code is given. TheCAN node design process which serves P87C591 microprocessor, SJA1000 controller and 82C250 transceiver as core was discussed particularly.The node can acquisite datas from the engine and send or receive messages to or from the CAN—BUS .At last the software of data display and controling software is also degsined based on VB environment.
