With the development of radio technology, the types of radio stations are endless and they are used more and more, such as supervisory control and data acquisition,distributed control system,residence community safety protection system,travel scheduling system and so on. However, because of the effect of the frequency spectrum resources and the transmitting power, the range of communication will be restricted when the radio station is using. With the rapid development of internet technology, it makes the global communication easy. How to apply the network technology into radio station and expand the communication scope of radio station and control the radio station remotely will become the focus in this paper.As a communication medium, the application of the radio station is restricted, which is the same to the fiber, microwave, open line. It provides the real-time and reliable data transmission of the monitoring signals on some special occasion during the network , which is characterized with the low cost, the convenient installation and maintenance, the strong diffraction, the flexible network structure and the far coverage. It is suitable for the multi-point and spread, the complex geographical environment and so on. It is widely used in many network fields, such as in the safety guard and industrial control field.Both at home and abroad, the radio station is used more recently in the industrial area, nowadays, the combination of the internet technology and the radio station technology is a new trend in the radio station application fields. In this paper, we designed and developed a new type of embedded network controller. Making full use of their respective advantages of the radio station technology and the internet technology, it is not only can expand the communication scope of the radio station, but also can control the radio remotely.This paper mainly introduces the hardware and software design and implementation of the embedded radio station network controller. In hardware, we complete the design of the function circuit besides the core board, which includes power modules, network modules, speech modules, I/O interface module. In software, we complete the network programming, device drivers, C language common gateway interface, transplantation and optimization of voice codec module, transplantation and use of JRTPLIB on the Linux platform.
