Yichun China Unicom Research And Practice, The Local Transmission Network Optimization

As the level of consumption improves and the competetion of telecommunications industry intensifies, finally it leads to increasingly high demands of the quality of telecommunications networks by consumers, at the same time telecommunications operators have increasingly focused on the investment income, which concerns the optimal use of resources . on the basis of fully protection of the original investment in network, analysis the original network and the needs of services development, bring forward and implementate the optimization programmes to realize the purpose of improve network performance and network optimization. Yichun Branch of China Unicom started local transmission network building in the construction of the first phase of the project. However, due to tight time, limited investment, plus facing all sorts of difficulties which backward transmission network builders must face, the construction of local transmission network has been in service for mobile communications with supporting status , and the building of the transmission network take the opening of sites as its primary goal, lack of sustainable development objectives of the overall plan. Since 2004, with speeding up the pace of construction in the network building , it is much more important to optimize the original network at the same time of constrction. that is, to optimize in the development, so as to continuously improve communication quality, stability and protection of the local transport network.This paper involved the content of modern communication technology, the development of the transmission network in the modern telecommunications network was introduced, currently being widely used SDH technology and its self-healing protection mechanism is given. in the development and optimization of Yichun local transmission network, through the expansion of STM-1 rings into STM-4 to improve the capacity of network, through the demolition and reorgnization of rings with too much nodes to enhance the stability and capacity, through the composition of rings to replace long linkes with nodes to achieve self-healing ring function, through microwave ring to meet the needs where optical path can not ring the transmission to realize self-healing protection , through the optimization of the clock resources to improve transmission quality and network stability.Transmission network optimization is the result of the technology development, but also the needs of various network operators in the course of the actual operation and maintenance. The optimization programmes in this paper have certain guidance function and are practical. At the same time the network quality to a large extent also decided the competition results between operators, therefore it is imperative to optimize the transmission network.
