Virtual reality modelling language (VRML) is three-dimensional scene description language which is applied in the most widespread aspect. But it is merely one kind of description language, lacks of the complex behavior and the support of interactive programming. The Java3D's function and programmable is stronger, for which has lots of Java class library's support, and can import many kinds of graphic files. Being compared with VRML, it is more easily for Java3D implements the dynamic control of three dimensional virtual scene.Virtual campus system development goals are: First, it provides convenient of exchange and communication for students, teachers and administration staff; Second, it causes the digital campus to be more perfect, and the three dimensional virtual campus makes the people know the school in a more direct-viewing way.The paper makes the analysis to the tools of VRML and Java3D, as well as the hypothesized environment system, proposes the realization scheme. It breaks through the limitation which purely uses VRML or Java3D, and gives the realization.
