On Augest 18th 2006, a Chinese standard was publicized wih a numeric symbol GB20600-2006 and was named as"Framing Structure, Channel Coding and Modulation for Digital Television Terrestrial Broadcasting System". The standard contains both single carrier and multiple carriers systems. It also includes technology which has obtained intellectual property rights.It is choosed single carrier system in the standard as the research target. And as there are many modes for the single carrier system, it is choosed the high code transmit speed mode for this project: 0.8 FEC+PN595+expand frequency for system message+ the second type of interleaving+16QAM mapping+double frequency guide.According to the name of the standard, the single carrier system can be divided into three parts: channel coding, frame structure and modulation. In channel coding, it is emphasesised on scrambling, FEC and interleaving which is designed and simulated in Matlab and Xilinx. In frame part, it is payed attention to frame header, frame body, the combination of them to be a frame and the double frequency guide. In modulation section, it contains 16QAM mapping and filter.The contribution of the thesis is to make a utility design for LDPC (7493, 6096) encode on hardware. The big matrix of LDPC (7493,6096) is the QC-LDPC type. So, I analyze the matrix, using math to get brief mathematic formulas for the encoded bits. Based on SRAA structure, I improve it with increasing another 127 bits register to save time. After successfully simulated on Xilinx, it can be demonstrated by verification matrix, using the encode theory. And it's a good beginning for transferring the design on hardware in the future.
