Digital TV terrestrial broadcasting system, as the combination of the traditional TV broadcasting and the new digital technology, has both high techniques and large application field. Recently, China has issued its own digital television terrestrial broadcasting standard. The terrestrial broadcasting technology is definitely to have attractive business value in the upcoming decades.This paper is dealing with the carrier acquisition and track algorithm in digital terrestrial broadcasting system. The main contents are listed as follows:The paper first dicribes the basic information of high definition TV, the structure of digital TV terrestrial broadcasting system, the development of digital TV in China and shows the essentiality of the carrier synchronization and the influence of carrier frequency offset.Then according to the digital TV terrestrial broadcasting standard, the paper analyzes the carrier synchronization algorithms of both the multi-carrier system (take DVB-T as an example) and single-carrier system (take ATSC-8VSB as an example), also compares the advantage and disadvantage of these algorithms.The main work of this paper is proposing a new carrier recovery algorithm, based on ADTB-T system. The basic theory of carrier synchronization algorithm is given out. And the paper also proposes a new algorithm of auto adaptative peak value detection and applies the result of analog phase lock loop to digital phase lock loop.Then the paper describes the principle and structure of the proposed algorithm in detail. A simulation in MATLAB is constructed in order to choose the better parameter to optimize the system performance.At last paper describes the FPGA implementation process of the proposed algorithm on a StratixS80 chip from Altera. A new method using phase lookup table to realize the arg() function is proposed to reduce the cost of system resource quite a lot.The main contribution of this paper is to bring up an improved algorithm of carrier recovery based on multi-state control, which doesn't rely on pilot signal. Therefore it can be widely applied in other digital communication system only if the data frame contains known data.
