HWIL simulation and testing is one of the most important means when analyzing and verifying the network performances and protocols. Mobile Ad-Hoc Network HWIL simulation system can complete the performance analysis and functional verification of the routing protocols, link layer protocols in the MANET systems in the experimental Ethernet LAN environment, with the help of some real wireless nodes or the nodes simulated by PC. These could lead a further revise and perfection of the protocols. This test platform can make up for the actual network test cost, difficult to manage and difficult to reproduce the test results, and the pure software network simulation can not accurately simulate the actual situation, and does not support the application services. The platform is not limited to the simulation of MANET protocols. It can be used for the simulation of a wide range of network protocols through very simple changes. This thesis studies the content of the frame transmission parts of the MANET HWIL simulation system, namely the research and design of the data distributing and pooling subsystem. This subsystem provides a connectionless, unreliable and real-time data transmission services for the MANET SWIL system. It also gives a centralized frame management and scheduling of the corresponding data. It provides adequate throughput capacity and little transmission delay and waiting without affect the results of the simulations.First, the thesis analyses the overall structure of the subsystem, and the position and role in the whole system. Then its entire structure, functions and software architecture is designed in detail very carefully.Second, the means of the MAC frame's reception and transmission in the Linux OS are briefly introduced. In view of the needs of real-time transmission of the MANET HWIL simulation system, through the research and analyzing of the real-time characteristics of Linux OS, as well as the real-time transformation technologies, a new transmission mechanism is designed and implemented. It increases the system's real-time transmission performances. Associated testing and analysis is given too.Third, under the demand of data link control of the subsystem when transmission the data frames, a data link control protocol for the subsystem is designed and implemented. It can process an effective flow control, but also can meet the throughput requirements. At the same time, a corresponding test and analysis is carried out. Finally, the thesis gives a analysis and presentation of key issues of the realization methods of the subsystem. The subject researched in this thesis can not only applying in the MANET HWIL simulation system, its research methods and achievements also gives an important reference value to other HWIL simulation projects.
