Zigbee technology, based on the IEEE 802.15.4 protocol, is a newly developed short range wireless communication technology with the merits of low cost, low power consumption at comparable lower data rate. While the Zigbee technology is more and more frequently adopted in application areas like environmental monitoring, home automation, medical treatment and so on, wireless sensor network positioning technology and synchronization technology has also received increasing attention.The main work of the article has three parts: Fist, gives a systematic introduction of the localization algorithm in wireless sensor networks, and simulates the APIT and Ecolocation Algorithm; then, analyzes the problems in the superframe duration schedule algorithm, and gives the improved method; Finally, designs and realizes a Zigbee network platform.The node localization of Wireless sensor network is the premise of a wide range of applications such as targeting and monitoring, but also the support of wireless sensor network. This article gives a summary of the current localization algorithm, emphasis on the range-free algorithm, and gives a simulation and comparison of the classic distributed localization algorithm, provides a basis for the further study of the localization algorithm based on Zigbee.Time synchronization is essential for wireless sensor networks, and because wireless sensor networks is highly related to applications, it is very difficult to use the same time synchronization mechanism among them. This article mainly introduces how to synchronize the whole network by schedule the beacon frame in Zigbee cluster tree network. And points out the problem in the SDS algorithm, gives a solution to how to enlarge the network capacity.For further study on Zigbee, we develop a Zigbee network platform based on the a IEEE802.15.4 wireless microcontroller and temperature humidity sensor , which also a PC graphic user interface.In the end, we conclude our work, and give a prospect of the future work.
