Based Pibg Paradigm Pen Form

PUI(Pen-based User Interface),as the main interface style of Post WIMP (Window+Icon+Menu+Pointing Devices)interface style,is to be the focus of research of HCI.PUI,based on pen-paper metaphor,provides a natural and highly efficient interactive mode to users,so it can reduce users' cognition burden.In the real life,people use the written records way to express and to exchange each kind of information naturally massively.It can help people to catch ideas,events,to carry on the abstract ponder and the image description conveniently and so on.The Pen-based User Interfaces research makes every effort to calculate each activity. While keeping traditional work-style naturally,people can use the computing resource effectively to maintain all information,such as revision,retrieval, transmission,pretreatment and analysis and so on.Form is an important manner for recording and presenting information.It is also widely used in the management of daily work and business.Form has the high grade data acquisition function,so it can collect and manage information conveniently. While it is also the metaphor improvement of Form User Interface of WIMP Interface. Pen-based form can help people rapidly get information and effectively translate form information into special information that can be accepted by people's brain easily. Therefore,regardless of externally,interaction styles,it is very natural.The paper research aim is:take the pen type user as the background,based on PIBG model(paradigm)and toolbox(Toolkit),deeply analyze the basic concept of form,the application domain and the form's structural grammar and so on.Table-form is an important component in form.In the existing software tools, keyboard and mouse are used as interactive devices for making the table-forms,which doesn't accord with people's habits of using paper and pen.In the thesis,we present the pen-based developing method for making the formal and sketched table-form.For the sketched table-form,a self-adaptive method is put forward to separate the words and frame-lines.Based on the method,the sketched table-form can be transformed to the formal table-form successfully so that the flexibility usability of table-form making is increased.According to the above form's factors,the author makes the prototype system come true and carried on the user appraisal experiment to this system.This paper was supported by the National High-Tech Research and Development Program of China(863 Program)(No.2006AA01Z328)and the Open Foundation of State Key Laboratory of Computer Science,The Chinese Academy of Sciences(No.SYSKF0704).
