When objects need flash perspectivity in industrial production and scientific research, it is a useful and effective way to useγray beam pulses to detect the whole states. It requests high sensitivity of imaging media in order to guarantee good signal to noise ratio of images. Since the beginning of 1970s, CCDs have been widely used in various fields such as camera monitor, image acquisition, target tracking, industrial measurement and etc. According to physical properties of semiconductor devices, the CCD with proper depletion layer is probable to be used for energetic particle detectors of high sensitivity. In principle, it is feasible to detect energetic particle beams used in flash perspectivity directly by CCD. Compared to commonγ-ray (x-ray mainly) flash perspectivity techniques, the technique of direct particle detection by CCD has not been widely used by researchers in other fields except several advanced research institutions abroad who use CCD arrays to constitute vertex detectors to record traces of space flight behavior of energetic particles. The article exactly starts the study on it.Based on mastery of related physical properties of x rays and mastery of imaging principles and characters of CCDs, the article designs and assemblies a basic imaging circuit with common commercial CCD chips, and transmits video signals output to an image capture card built in a computer, so as to constitute a set of experimental system by which images can be received by CCD, digitalized by the card and showed and stored on the computer. By experiments of direct imaging and record on pulses produced by x-ray machines of different tube voltages with the system, it certifies feasibility of direct detection to x rays by CCD through data analysis of images acquired. According to the results of experiments, the article also corresponding analyzes methods of technical improvement, and raises some expanding application imagination of detection to other charged particles by CCD.
