With the rapid development of information technology, network application of more and more, the requirement of services is also constantly evolving. A single high- performance computer is not competent to settle problems about super lager-scale. So the geographically distributed and heterogeneous resources linked through a high-speed network are needed to realize the overall sharing of the resources, which including computing resources, storage resources, information resources, knowledge resources and so on, dispel "isolated island" of information, and jointly solve the problem of large-scale application. The emergence of grid provides a solution for these issues. Grid is a kind of new generation infrastructure established on the Internet, its core idea is just various resources sharing in the environment of distributing system.With the development of Web Services technology, developers found that the cross-platform interoperability, the reusability, and other features for a number of business services and enterprise partners of Web Services could offer a single common framework. The integration of Grid and Web Services will achieve many technical advantages, such as security, reliable messaging, automatic framework generating and services monitoring technology. For the present, Web Services have produced a series of standards, on which the applications can ensure long-term compatibility. With the promotion of applications of the SOA which based on Web Services, it is becoming the standard of grid services.The WCF framework released by Microsoft, integrated distributing processes with .NET platform and unified the service model, which provided an excellent development platform for Web Services grid. However, WCF is in phase of the promotion, researches and the establishments of distributed systems using WCF application are still very scarce, with the lack of mature examples of the application; there are still many practical problems.Firstly, this thesis analyzed the grid and Web Services architecture, and then studied the idea of establishing a Web Services grid with WCF. Secondly, according to typical scenes of grid applications, this thesis identified the requirements and design goals of the grid platform based on Web Services, from which extracted service model and then designed the whole architecture of this Web Service grid system. Finally, this thesis exploited and realized a prototype system using WCF technology.In this paper, the author proposed a standard grid platform model based on Web Services that is flexible, which achieved a group of functionalities ,such as information collection, service registration, request routing, distribution of tasks, parallel computing, and so on. This grid system provides a realistic reference for the establishment of loosely coupled, scalable distributed systems.
