NETLAB is an Internet-based remote laboratory which includes Client, Controller and Server. Based on double C/S structure (Client/Server), it is easy for all experiment devices to connect with server via network and used by remote users and meets the function and efficiency requirements well.Server is the core part of the laboratary and decides whether NETLAB goes well, and the key of the server is database and communication part. Database server stores user information, experiment design, experiment results etc. The experiment server implements the communication between the client and the controller, and also arranges the experiments for users according to the rules. So this article emphasizes on the design and implementation procedure of the security and stability of the server system. For Database part, it ensures the security of the server with password strategy, database security strategy, and backup & recovery strategy; it supports the stability of the server with high efficiency data process strategy, affair strategy and user authority strategy etc.For experiment server part, the emphasis is Net Communication Implementation. We adopt user-defined protocol strategy, protocol format optimization strategy, SSL security programming strategy to ensure the security of the server. Thread pool technology, efficiency experiment arrangement and scheduler strategy, watchdog strategy, buffer strategy, and hardware & software optimization are used to ensure the stability of the server. At the end, the article summarizes our research and development and put forward a proposal of communication technology development and the improvement of the NETLAB system architecture for further development.
