NETLAB is a remote virtual labortory based on Internet. It adopts the double-C/S structure with three sites: control site, server site and client site. Multiuser can do experiments at the same time via NETLAB. It is flexible and robust. NETLAB provides more than 11 experiment groups with over 30 experiments for E.E. students. All these experiments are based on physical equipments. NETLAB tries to simulate the traditional laboratory enviroment. This thesis summarizes the the development of NETLAB. It includes five parts. Chapter 1 introduces the virtual laboratory development abroad and the background of the NETLAB. The content, fuction and characteristic of the NETLAB are given in detail in Chapter 2. The structure of the NETLAB is presented in Chapter 3, as well as many flow charts about experiment operation. Four key questions are put forward in Chapter 4: the second-development interface, the remote realtime control, the communication implementation and the system security. Concrete explaination about these four problems is given in this chapter. In Chapter 5, some suggestions for further development of the NETLAB are presented.
