The combination of Internet and modern education idea makes campus network in modern campus play an increasing important role. We discover that blind construction and rebuilding phenomenon everywhere after we studied the old campus network. And the construction is lack in theory direction. All these problems result in the limited function, lack of expansibility and the difficulty in upgrade of the campus network. So the campus network cannot very well meet the actual need, and has not been able to play the role that it should have.With the maturity and development of network technology, after summarizing the experiences and lessons in campus network construction, we can see that the construction of campus network is becoming more standardized and scientific. The role of campus network constructrue is transferring. The former campus network construction only pays great attention to the hardware, overall has not carried on the macroscopic plan. Compare to the old one, now we pay great attention to the campus network content, the science plan, and the reasonable design. The old technologies are constantly being eliminated, while new technologies are springing up. How can the campus network to adapt to the demands of the new situation and meet the needs of future development? How to establish a scientific campus network? These become the major issues to us.This paper itemizes the main content of network construction and analyses the main problems of our old networks. After a sum-up of the key technologies used in the campus network construction, the paper gives out a reasonable solution of building a useful campus network, and introduced the actual wiring problem in detail. This paper also introduced the widespread wireless network technology and gives out some applications of that in campus network. Finally, it talked about the security problem and management of our network. This paper is characterized by its analysis of the essence content of campus network. The research of this paper may be a possible reference in the future campus network construction for the more complete study of the campus network technology with a related new technology being introduced.
