As the increasement of the scale in IC design, the function verification of the IC design is getting more and more complex.Many new verification methods have emerged one after another. How to choose the appropriate verification methods for the different IC products to obtain the greatest efficiency remains a research topic.The development in integrate circuit manufacture and design technology make the integrate circuit design enter the SOC (system on chip) phase. The IP is the most important unit of the SOC.The IP based on the USB and AHB has maked a realization of the data path betweent the USB and AHB. This IP can be widly apply to the IC products of digital camera, mobile phone etc.This dissertation expatiate the verification method and realization for the USB2.0-AHB bridge IP core based on ARM. First, it introduced the essential verification technologies, the popular overseas and domestic verification methods, the protocol of USB and AHB, the way to establish system verification environment based on Synopsys VIP from the specification of IP, the way to design a behavior module of ARM in the whole verification environment, so that the module can receive and analyse many kinds of bus commands from USB, then configure IP based on the commands After that, the dissertation gave the way to design testcases and utility based on the specification of IP, the way to make use of Perl script language to realize the automatic testcases creation and self-check for every single testcase. At last, the thesis introduced the method to use C Shell script to realize the automatic regression of the whole verification system and check the coverage achievement at the end of the regression.The verification method introduced in this dissertation is good in reuse.All the data path of the USB-AHB bridge IP has passed the FPGA test at one time after the verification which introduced in this essay. Finally, this IP was accepted by the cooperation company.
