DTV user are also eager to change the actuality of"passive accept",Video On Demand (VOD), which stands for the service of interactive video, has appeared many kinds such as based on LAN VOD, based on Two-way HFC network VOD and hotel VOD et. But there are many shortcoming , for example network bandwidth bottle-neck, blurry image and expensive Two-way rebuild. so it is necessary to develop A VOD for one–way CATV.The DTV metropolitan VOD system is one large-scale operation system that contains the VOD service, program distribution, program management, program recording, operation manages, system monitoring and management and etc. running on the platform of normal DTV one-way network , Its main goal is to provide user a convenient, stable, and high quality video VOD service using STB ,In the research I has mainly completed operation support platform's design and implement including system management ,program management and the TV website content inform module in the DTV metropolitan VOD system, it's detail contents include the system operation parameters maintain and setting, security control and the operation log management, coordination with each function module relations in the system, program management and content broadcast on the TV website management.Considering user's need and system performance demand, The system adopts the C/S architecture, the middle components adopt the CORBA, which is platform independence, all the three modules are object-oriented planed and designed overall. The three modules were introduced particularly from the idea of system design principle, partition of the modules and the realization of each one in details. And these subsystems all achieved the function tests.After repeatedly restrictedly tested, the system has been business applied to Mianyang CATV Network corporation. so far ,the system's performance is excellent and stable ,clear image and high Qos, and the system can fully achieve the goal of expectation, as well as affirm the research's exploitation production.
