After improving from many aspects, OFDM technique recently is becoming themethod used in the burgeoning communication standard or protocols for its specialadvantages. The multicarrier transmission known as OFDM provides a considerablesolution for the huge data quantity for its robustness to multipath selective fading and highbandwidth eficiency. Therefore, many protocol, including IEEE 802.11a, DVB, DAB,IEEE 802.16 and so on, use it widely. Of them, the "burst mode" is the one that is paidmuch more attention. The main contributions for this paper are as follows:1.Introduce the OFDM modulation and demodulation technique in detail, and at thesame time, simulate it with the software.2.Analyze the effect of the error of synchronization on the OFDM demodulation, andthen, show the algorithm to solve these problems. Besides that, simulate this algorithm totest the quality of them with Matlab software.3.Design the architecture of the OFDM modulation, demodulation andsynchronization system by FPGA and check out the results of FPGA by the Quartussoftware, and compare them with the Matlab simulation results.
