With the rapid development of the commercialization of the world, more and more industries and departments need to get the real-time information of their vehicles or other mobile machines which they also hope to remote control. Such demands impelled vehicle monitoring system gradually becoming the research hotspot at home and abroad, and set up three major supporting technologies including the wireless communication technology, positioning technology and the GIS technology. To the practical demands of project, a set of solution on the remote vehicle monitoring system based on GPRS / GPS / GIS was designed in this paper. The internal structure of the server software was analyzed in detail, at the same time, the core function which was named as Data Server Center, DSC for short, was designed as key point. The DSC is the logical processing center of the data on the Server, and accomplishes many tasks such as communicating with the terminals on vehicle, intercommunicating with the Database, and with the user interface (the business-displaying platform) and so on. In the course of completing the DSC, in this paper, what have been resolved were such problems: the method of communication on the Network formed by GPRS joining with Internet, synchronizing the data of DSC, connecting with Database by ADO.NET, the method of communicating with the business-displaying platform, the design of the Database etc.. To further improve the performance of the server, the new Generic Type in .NET was reasonably applied, the data type XML was used to optimize the Database, meanwhile, resolved the troubles on parsing the data correctly due to the changing of the system configuration info. In the end, the system framework based on B/S was programmed.
