In this paper, you will see the definition of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), the brief introduction of EMC national standards, the cause, suppression and testing of EMC. In the essential part, an electric field strength test of one mobile phone radiation in an EMC chamber is introduced in detail. All the testing data are collected, calculated and analyzed; there are also pictures which can visualize the electric field strength. The last part summarizes this paper.The mobile phone will be studied here as an example of the EMC property of potable and mobile equipments. The quick development of mobile technology in recent years offers us much convenience to our lives. On the other hand, the electro-magnetic radiation and the electric field radiation the phone produced is bothering us too. These mobile phones can be used anytime at anywhere, with messages transmitted via RF waves. People become more and more interested in the effect of electromagnetic radiation, which may affect our healthy and the sensitive equipments. We all have some experience in our lives, for example we are required to turn off mobile phones when traveling by air; neither can we use them in a hospital. Hens force, it's very important to evaluate the EMC property precisely when necessary.One of the key parts of this paper is the electric field testing of the mobile phone. In this test, a modal of GSM dual band phone is used. GSM is the abbreviation of Global System for Mobile Communication; it's one of the main cell communication systems in the world. And the dual bands are 900MHz and 1800MHz.
